Understand compression of eDNA data during migration

Understand compression of eDNA data during migration

By default, newly created PI tags have compression enabled. This setting allows for more efficient storage of eDNA points on the target Data Archive. In the PI System, compression is configurable on a "per-PI tag basis.' If you do not wish to compress your eDNA points during the migration process, you will need to modify the settings for the target PI tags after they are created, and prior to migration.

You can configure compression settings in bulk via the CSV file during tag creation and editing. See Understand the CSV mapping file.

Note: If the target PI tag has snapshot values outside of, or later than, the time range of the data being migrated, compression may not be applied in Data Archive.
