Multiple thematic maps are superimposed to reveal optimal locations using the overlay technique. Map overlays have the ability to generate a new data layer as a product of existing layers. Overlay can be used to combine, delete, modify, or update spatial features. The features of the overlays can be updated with the realtime value. Different map data appears based on how you assign the asset data to the zoom layers.
To manage the view on the map using overlays, follow the steps:
-
Select the overlay icon
at the upper right corner of a map. It displays a list of base maps and overlays.

-
Select the overlays to display different data within the current map view.

Basemap is a reference map which overlays data from layers and visualize geographic information. An individual basemap can be made of multiple feature, raster, or web layers. Basemaps provides geographical context to the map and other dataset layers above it. The GISMapApp consists of three base maps: DarkStyle, LightStyle, and OSM.
