Clustering

This section describes how to reduce the number of features in the view by aggregating them to clusters. For more information, refer Feature Reduction.

  1. Double click the GISMapApp in the imported App to open the editor.

  2. Select the "Esri Cities" layer and enable the FEATUREREDUCTION section.

  3. Enable clusterRadius and configure it with 50.

  4. Enable FIELDS and select + ITEM to create one field. Configure it with:

    • Name: Total Population

    • OnStatisticField: POP

    • StatisticType: sum

  5. Enable DrawingInfo renderer with the below configuration.

    • Renderer= Simple

    • Symbol=Picture Marker. Select Image File, and click the Select Image File button to choose the Marker.png file.

  6. Below DrawingInfo area, enable VisualVariables. Add an item with the below configuration.

    • Size Info

    • MinMax

    • Field=Total Population

    • maxDataValue=14000000

    • maxSize=90

    • minDataValue=100000

    • minSize=6

  7. Below DRAWINGINFO area, enable LABELINGINFO. Add an item with the below configuration.

    • LabelExpression= [cluster_count]

    • Enable Symbol.

    • Enable Color and select White color.

  8. Save the layer and see the result in the preview map.

    Note: The graphics rendered in the GISMap utilize the default Galaxy style, and this cannot be changed.
