Federated Identity Provider

The AVEVA Identity Manager (AIM) service can be configured to federate user authentication with CONNECT. This configuration allows you to set up external identity providers, such as Microsoft Entra ID and CONNECT, by using the Federated Provider plugin that is available when you install PCS 8.0 or later, provided that System Platform 2023 is not installed.

• Providers can be created with the Configurator plugin or with PowerShell commands.

• Federated external provider plugins will be disabled if System Platform plugin 2023 is installed.

• Federated external providers are only available to configure if SMS or RSSO nodes are configured.

  Note: Not all AVEVA products support authorization through federated identity providers. Refer to the product‑specific documentation to confirm whether this feature is supported.
