AVEVA Measurement Advisor Cloud Data Connector for AVEVA Enterprise SCADA product suite structure

Measurement Advisor Data Connectors are a product suite of independently upgradable products from multiple silos. To meet varying customer needs, there are two data connectors: AVEVA Measurement Advisor Cloud Data Connector for AVEVA Enterprise SCADA and the AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for Autosol Communication Manager (ACM). The needed files for both data connectors are structured in a similar fashion.

To understand how the connectors are structured, it is important to understand the following terminology:

• A Release is a collection of multiple different Products.

• A Product can have multiple different Product Components.

• Those Product Components will be installed into multiple different Silos using Microsoft Installer (MSI) files.

  

Release — A collection of products that are released together as a single entity.

Product — A collection of features representing a software solution that meets customer business requirements.

Silo — A collection of folders on disk that represent the product install location (Install Root) and the customization location (Data Root).

Product Component — A collection of product files installed together into a single silo.

MSI — A Microsoft Installer (*.msi) file representing a single product component that will install the files into a single silo.
