Use the Licensing Assistant to request and install an AVEVA Enterprise SCADA license.
To run the Licensing Assistant
-
On the first system (first computer in the second domain), ensure that you have:
-
Properly installed AVEVA Enterprise SCADA products
-
Configured the system for the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA system and computers you want to license
-
-
Sign in as a member of DNA Installers (for example, dnaInstaller).
-
On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.
Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.
-
Execute the following commands:
cd $env:DNAInstallRoot\Shared\scripts\
set-silo.ps1 Tools
-
Execute the following command:
LicenseAssistant /request /systems:<SystemName(s)>
Where:
<SystemName(s)> = The name(s) of your AVEVA Enterprise SCADA system(s). To request licenses for multiple systems, enter a comma-separated string of system names with no spaces. For example:
LicenseAssistant /request /systems:ls1pdc,ls1sdc
Note: If you do not list any system or systems in the command, the Licensing Assistant assumes that you're requesting licenses for all systems.
-
After the above command completes, note the output path for the new license file. For example:
Your license requests have been bundled in the following location:
C:\Users\dnainstaller\Documents\OASyS DNA License Requests\
The system creates a zipped file in the above directory (for example, requests_2019-12-04_10-28-07.zip).
-
Go to the OASyS DNA License Portal (http://oasyslicense.com). Enter your email address and select the zipped license request file generated in the previous step.
-
Select Sign License File.
-
After your license request has been approved, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Customer Support will email you a zipped license file for the computers configured in the selected system(s).
The zipped folder should contain the path <domain or computer name>\<computer name>\license.xml based on the domain and computer name for the requested system. If you requested licenses for multiple systems, there will be more than one subfolder under the domain folder.
Note: If the computer doesn't belong to a domain, use the computer name for the <domain or computer name>, otherwise use the domain name.
-
For each system, extract the contents of the licenses_<date>_<time>.zip file to the %DNADataRoot%\Shared\config\Licenses directory.
The full path to the license file is the appropriate domain and computer name for that particular system:
%DNADataRoot%\Shared\config\Licenses\<domain or computer name>\<computer name>\license.xml
Note: It is acceptable, but not necessary, to have multiple subdirectories under the Licenses folder containing the license.xml files for the other servers in the domain.
