Pre-installation tasks for connectors

Before installing the software, complete the following tasks. See subsequent topics for more details about each task.

1. Verify the host meets the software requirements for the connector.

   For more information, see Software requirements for connectors.

2. If your connector is relay-enabled, install and start the relay before installing and starting the connector.

3. If the data source has additional requirements for installation, complete those tasks.

4. Configure security for the connector and your network.

   For more information, see Connector security.

5. Identify the administration port number.

6. Identify administration group users.
