Passwords
Passwords may be used by connectors to access data sources. These passwords are located on the connector host in the data source configuration file Datasource.config.json in the %PIHOME64%\Connectors\ConnectorName\Configuration folder.
Note: The Microsoft Data Protection API (DPAPI) is used to perform encryption for connectors that encrypt confidential information such as passwords.
Cryptographic keys
Connectors create a X.509 certificate at installation time. The X.509 certificate is used to secure an HTTPS connection for application administration. The private key for this certificate is stored in the Windows Certificate Store.
