Element references

You can use element references to add the same element to your element hierarchy more than once, as described in PI AF asset model structure. When you create a reference to an existing element, you essentially create a placeholder in the hierarchy that points back to the referenced element. This allows users to find the element in all the relevant contexts, but it does not create a copy of the element. The exact behavior depends on the reference type.
