Root privileges are required to install PI SQL Client JDBC using the installation script. If you cannot gain root privileges, we recommend that you extract the files to your home directory and perform the single user installation. See Install manually or for a single user system for details.
-
Open a Terminal window and use the cd command to change the directory to the location where you extracted the installation files. For example, type cd /Downloads/pipc/sql/sql client/jdbc.
Note: You must be in the same directory as the install.sh file to run the script.
-
Execute the installation script: sudo ./install.sh
-
If prompted, enter the super user password.
The installation script adds the CLASSPATH environment variable to the central bash shell configuration file, bash.bashrc, bashrc, or profile, which is located in /etc.
