Welcome to Apps, Widgets, and Controls

Each AVEVA OMI App is a collection of one or more controls which provides a function within a ViewApp, such as adding a title bar or listing and interacting with current alarms. They are primarily developed with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), but other technologies such as Windows Forms (WinForms) and HTML5 can also be used.

AVEVA widgets are roughly the HTML 5-based equivalents of AVEVA OMI Apps. However, there are some widgets for which there is no equivalent OMI App, and widgets which do have matching OMI Apps may not have all the functionality of the OMI App.

The Visualization folder includes default OMI Apps and widgets. This help file describes these default OMI Apps and widgets.You can include any OMI App or widget in a ViewApp by dragging and dropping it onto a pane in the Layout or ViewApp editor.

This help file contains information for ViewApp designers and for users who run ViewApps containing OMI Apps and widgets.
