Join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program

The Microsoft 365 Developer Program offers a testing sandbox, software tools, and other resources to build solutions for the Microsoft 365 platform. By joining the Microsoft 365 Developer Program you will be able to create some test Power BI reports that can be used to evaluate the Power BI App.

Important: This procedure is intended for users who want to evaluate the Power BI App and how it works with Power BI reports. This procedure shows a set of steps to join the MIcrosoft 365 Developer Program. Readers should understand that Microsoft may change their requirements to join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program, which is beyond the capability of AVEVA to address in its documentation.

After you join and create your administrator account, see Create and publish a Power BI report for the steps to create a report.

To join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program

1. With you web browser, show the Microsoft 365 Developer Program web site. At the time of writing, the URL was:

   https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/dev-program

2. Click Join Now from the web page.

   

3. Follow the steps of the Join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program to create your account.

   You must enter your personal data as requested. The following screen shot shows example test data.

   

4. Click Next and choose Personal projects as your primary focus as a developer.

   

5. Click Next and select Power Platform.

   

6. Click Save and select Set up E5 subscription.

   

7. Set up your developer subscription.

   

   

8. After you set up your developer subscription, sign into the Azure portal by clicking on Go to subscription.

   

   This will take you to https://portal.azure.com/.

9. Log in with your administrator credentials.
