AVEVA™ FlexNet License Server

Reconfigure IPASSI FNP license server

The FNP license server has three required components: the daemon, the license file, and the server debug log file. The FNP License Server installation program automatically configures these three components. AVEVA generally does not recommend that license administrators reconfigure the server or change the default service name: IPASSI FNP xx.xx License Service. However, if reconfiguration is necessary, the Config Services tab has all the controls to perform the task. In the Config Services tab, the administrator can specify the paths to the following:

  • the lmgrd.exe file

  • the license file ipassi.lic

  • the debug log file ipassi.log

If the license server manages multiple license files, the Path to the license file has to point to the folder where the files are located.

The tab has two additional options: Start Server at Power Up and Use Services. When the two options are enabled, the IPASSI FNP xx.xx License Server automatically starts every time the computer starts. However, the license server does not start automatically if something prevents the server from starting, such as an invalid or missing license file. After the administrator reconfigures the service using the lmtools.exe utility, the administrator clicks the Save Service button to save the changes.
