Under normal circumstances, PI System Connector and PI Connector Relay should keep the destination AF structure synchronized with the source AF structure. However, there are a few atypical situations in which the destination AF structure may not accurately represent the source AF structure.
For instance, if an AF element on the destination AF structure is deleted, then PI System Connector may have trouble replacing the AF element and all of the references to that element.
Note: Deleting or altering the destination PI AF structure is not recommended under normal circumstances.
If you find that your destination AF structure does not accurately represent the source AF structure, you can use the Resync button located on the Advanced page for the data source configuration.
For simple anomalies, such as missing references, you may press the Resync button. Doing so will force the connector to re-export the entire source AF structure and send it to the PI Connector Relay to import to the destination.
For more complex anomalies, such as incorrect references, it is best to delete as much of the affected destination AF structure as possible before clicking the Resync button.
Note: If you find that you are frequently making use of the Resync button, then it may be time to re-evaluate the use case. Under normal circumstances, you should not be required to press the Resync button. Consider reaching out to tech support for clarification about whether or not your exact use case is properly supported by the PI System Connector.
