Before installing the connector, complete the following tasks.

  1. Verify the host meets the software requirements for the connector.

    For more information, see PI System Connector software and hardware requirements.

  2. If you are upgrading to a new version of the connector, review Upgrade PI System Connector.

  3. If the data source has additional requirements for installation, complete those tasks.

  4. Configure security for the connector and your network.

    For more information, see Connector security.

  5. Identify the administration port number.

  6. Identify administration group users.
