AF database replication

When an AF database is selected for replication, the following are replicated:

• Unit of Measure Classes and Units of Measure.

• The AF objects in the AF database which includes the following:

  • Elements

  • Element Templates

  • Event Frame Templates

  • Enumeration Sets

  • Tables (see exception below)

  • Categories

  • Reference Types

  • Event Frames (optional)

What is not replicated

The following elements are not replicated in the AF database.

• Analyses and Notifications objects and templates.

• AF Tables that are linked

• AF Table Connections

Event Frames

Event frames and their associated templates are only replicated if the Include Event Frames option is checked in the data source.

AF files

Attributes with AF file type and the uploaded AF file are replicated. The AF file will be available to the clients of the destination AF.

An attribute with string type can be used to provide a link as the path to a local file. When you hover over the link, a tool tip will be displayed, which tells you to use Control key in combination with left button click in order to open the file. Even though the path is replicated as the value of the attribute on the destination AF, the linked file is not replicated. Hence, the path might be invalid from the destination AF's view if the linked file does not pre-exist.
