This issue can result in no events in the destination PI Data Archive, no data in the destination PI AF server, or no data in either destination.

PI System Connector throws the following error when trying to configure a Data Source:

PI System Connector stops sending data with no error message

PI System Connector is not sending data to its Destination.

When checking logs on the PI System Connector and Relay machines (Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > PI Connectors), there are no error messages.

This issue can result in no events in the destination PI Data Archive, no data in the destination PI AF server, or no data in either destination.

After starting the PI Connector from the Administration browser UI, the following errors appear for one or more data sources in the Message Logs (Administration page > Diagnostics > Message Log):

An error occurred while draining the asset cache buffer.

An invalid modification to an existing AF object was attempted. Discarding offending event and continuing processing.
