About the AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for Autosol Communications Manager (ACM)
The AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for Autosol Communications Manager (ACM) transfers Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) data to and from AVEVA Measurement Advisor. The AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM can be used as a stand alone product or in addition to your organization's AVEVA Enterprise SCADA system. In addition, the AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM can be used with both AVEVA Measurement Advisor on-premises and AVEVA Measurement Advisor cloud installations.
The diagram below shows the product components and how they are related. In most cases, AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM installation will encompass installs to two servers, one on Autosol Communications Manager server(s) (in the SCADA zone for AVEVA Enterprise SCADA users) and one to the DMZ servers. However, the installs can all be placed on the same server.

The Request Connector includes the MonitorMeasurementData service. The Request Connector monitors AVEVA Measurement Advisor for new or updated gas quality data and downloads it to Autosol Communications Manager.

The Data Connector Core includes the MonitorMeasBufferDB service. The Data Connector monitors Autosol Communications Manager for new or updated meter and gas quality configuration and data. This is transformed as needed and sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor.

The Data Connector Plugin for ACM includes the DBProcess agent.
Note: Hereafter in this document, the "Data Connector Core" and the "Data Connector Plugin" discussed together are referred to as the "Data Connector" which is a subcomponent of the AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM.

We recommend you enable the Microsoft SQL Server Protocol encryption for security purposes. It has been tested and verified. You should follow Microsoft's guidance on configuring certificates in Microsoft SQL Server when enabling the Protocol encryption. If you have any other databases in the Microsoft SQL Server instance which have protocol encryption enabled, we highly recommend you verify that everything works as expected.
