The AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for Autosol Communication Manager (ACM) release notes are arranged in order from the most recent release, and they correspond to the month and year the enhancements were made available in the product.
August 2024
The following release information is provided for this release of the AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM.
Features
The following functionality is included with the initial release of AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM:
-
The AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM supports transferring hourly and daily meter reading data, hourly and daily gas composition data, alarm and event data, and configuration data from Autosol Communication Manager to AVEVA Measurement Advisor.
-
This AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM documentation contains information related to both on-premises and cloud versions of AVEVA Measurement Advisor. However, the cloud-related documentation will become applicable beginning in late September, 2024, with the next release of AVEVA Measurement Advisor on the cloud.
-
Using the AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM, Zone Gas Quality (GQ) data can be downloaded from AVEVA Measurement Advisor to meters in the field.
-
The credentials required to connect to AVEVA Measurement Advisor are stored in an encrypted string that is used to connect, so no login credentials need to be provided when the application starts. The back-end processes make use of the encrypted connection string that may include the user credentials if Microsoft SQL Server authentication is used for cross-domain installations.
-
Any additional data columns that were added to the Meter and Gas Quality tables by the customer can be populated by the AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM if they are supported by Autosol Communication Manager. For more information, see About the ACMDataMapping.json File.
-
Multiple AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM installs can be started to service multiple Autosol Communication Manager installs. However, they can not be connected on the same computer. If your organization has multiple Autosol Communication Manager systems, you could have a separate data connector for each Autosol Communication Manager server.
-
The health of the data transfers sent via the AVEVA Measurement Advisor Data Connector for ACM can be monitored from the AVEVA Measurement Advisor client application.
Fixed Issues
Not applicable for this first release.
Known Issues
The following is a list of known issues at the time of release:
-
The encryption/decryption can be too slow when the ProtectionRules setting in the ACMsettings.json is set to “AVEVA Apps”. If the startup of the ACM Data Connector process is too slow, the services will fail to start correctly. Set the ProtectionRules to “LOCAL=machine” if this is the case.
-
The default encrypted connection strings in the ACMsettings.json file are invalid for your system. These strings will be updated to be blank strings in a future update to avoid confusion when configuring your system.
