The hardware and software requirements for starting an AVEVA Unified Engineering streamed desktop are as follows:
-
A computer with any of the three latest major versions of one of the following supported web browsers installed:
-
Google Chrome
-
Mozilla Firefox
-
Safari
-
Microsoft Edge
-
-
A stable internet connection that provides at least 5 Mbps of download bandwidth per user with less than 100ms round trip latency.
-
Workspaces Applications (formerly Appstream 2.0) sessions are accessed by end-users via the public internet using HTTPS (Port 443). Firewall policies should allow these settings.
-
Minimum screen resolution of 1280x1024 (1920x1080 or above recommended).
Recommended Edge Browser Performance Settings
To ensure your Unified Engineering on CONNECT Session is not inadvertently closed due to Microsoft Edge's tabs feature, we recommend adjusting your tab sleep settings.
To change the settings:
-
Enter the URL edge://settings/system/managePerformance in the Edge browser address field.

-
From the memory section, adjust the Put inactive tabs to sleep setting by either
-
Disabling Automatically put tabs to sleep, or
-
Setting Put Inactive tabs to sleep after a set time to at least 2 hours
-
This ensures that your active work is not interrupted by tabs going to sleep too quickly.
