The hardware and software requirements for starting an AVEVA Unified Engineering streamed desktop are as follows:

  • A computer with any of the three latest major versions of one of the following supported web browsers installed:

    • Google Chrome

    • Mozilla Firefox

    • Safari

    • Microsoft Edge

  • A stable internet connection that provides at least 5 Mbps of download bandwidth per user with less than 100ms round trip latency.

  • Workspaces Applications (formerly Appstream 2.0) sessions are accessed by end-users via the public internet using HTTPS (Port 443). Firewall policies should allow these settings.

  • Minimum screen resolution of 1280x1024 (1920x1080 or above recommended).

To ensure your Unified Engineering - Browser Access Session is not inadvertently closed due to Microsoft Edge's tabs feature, we recommend adjusting your tab sleep settings.

To change the settings:

  1. Enter the URL edge://settings/system/managePerformance in the Edge browser address field.

  2. From the memory section, adjust the Put inactive tabs to sleep setting by either

    • Disabling Automatically put tabs to sleep, or

    • Setting Put Inactive tabs to sleep after a set time to at least 2 hours

This ensures that your active work is not interrupted by tabs going to sleep too quickly.
