Use WindowViewer to run all types of InTouch HMI applications.

WindowViewer is the InTouch HMI application run-time engine. You can use WindowViewer to run-time monitor and control operations of the applications you created in WindowMaker. Functions include the following:

  • Display: Manipulate the run-time display using pan, zoom, and other interactive tools.

  • Execute scripts: Use a wide variety of run-time triggers to start scripts while an application is running.

  • Data access, process, and store: Process and display I/O data. Configure WindowViewer to store application data and alarms in files or SQL Server databases.

  • Graphics animation: Use graphics animations to monitor and control your application.

  • Navigation: Use navigation displays and tools you configure in WindowMaker.

  • Security: Enforce security by requiring operators to sign in to WindowViewer before using the InTouch HMI application.

  • Lock application: Configure the application to prevent operators from making any changes to the computer running WindowViewer.

  • Alarms: Display, monitor, and manage alarms.

  • Historize: Start and stop application historical logging from WindowViewer menu commands.

  • Trend: Configure and display data trends.

  • User inputs: Provide a variety of inputs to your application including alarm acknowledgement, start and stop processes, set gauges, stop and start trends, and other inputs.

You can also configure the computer that runs WindowViewer to act as a client or as a server based upon how tag data is stored and distributed.
