Set up simulated data access

Use the Simulator Communication Driver to conduct basic testing of graphics and logic while developing your applications. Random simulated data provides a realistic test environment.

Workflow to set up simulated data access

1. Install the Simulator Communication Driver.

   You can install the SIM driver during the InTouch installation procedure. See Small system installation steps for more information.

2. Add Simulator Communication Driver connections in the OI Server Manager. See Use the Simulator Communication Driver for more information.

   1. Add a Port_Test connection. You can edit the connection name to suit your application testing.

   2. Add a PLC_Test connection. You can edit the connection name to suit your application testing.

3. Configure the PLC test connection. See Configure a PLC test connection for detailed guidance.
