Access Viewer projects

To access a project in Viewer:

1. On a supported web browser, go to CONNECT. When on this page, select Sign in.

   

2. Enter your email address.

   If Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled, the Password field disappears and authentication is handled by the SSO Server. Select Sign In to proceed.

3. If SSO is not enabled, enter your password, and select Sign In to proceed.

   

   A list of available accounts appears. Select your account.

4. In the Terms and conditions window, select Accept.

5. When inside the account, select your Digital Asset from the CONNECT home page.

6. Then, select AVEVA Point Cloud Manager - Viewer.

   

   The Viewer page opens and uses your CONNECT authentication credentials to sign you in automatically.

You can also open the Viewer landing page by using Point Cloud Manager Viewer.

Access Viewer projects with maps

You must have the Maps Page user role at the account level to access maps information.

To access a project that has maps information:

7. In the CONNECT account, select your digital asset, and then select AVEVA Point Cloud Manager - Viewer - Maps on the asset.

   

   On accessing the Viewer landing page, an instance of Google maps appears on the right side of the page. The projects appear in a tile view where you can open each project either in Administration or Viewer.

8. On the Google maps instance, select Expand for a larger view of the map.

   

9. To locate each dataset, either manually zoom into one of the dataset markers or select the relevant project and dataset shown.

   The map has project markers showing the location of each project on the landing page.

   When you zoom into a dataset, each individual scan position within that project is shown on the map. The scan markers are colored based on the elevation of that scan. A key is provided at the bottom right of the page to show which color relates to each elevation.

   

   

   When you select a project, a dataset, or a scan marker, a dialog appears with the details of that project, dataset, or scan.

10. (Optional) Select Open to load the associated project in Viewer. Viewer uses your CONNECT credentials to sign you in automatically.

11. To open a project from the tile view on the Viewer landing page, you can either:

    1. Select Open in Admin to open the project in the Project Administration page within the Dataset Management section.

    2. Select Open in Viewer to open the project in Viewer.

Important: Viewer supports Google Maps functionality. The licence terms prohibit use in certain areas, including China (a full list can be found at Enterprise Google Terms). Use of the release in these areas is therefore also prohibited without further review by AVEVA legal and development teams. For further details, contact AVEVA Software Support.

Sign out of Viewer

To sign out of a project:

12. Select Menu Options, and then select Sign Out.

    A confirmation dialog appears where you can confirm the sign out.

    

13. Select Yes to proceed.
