The following features and resolved issues were covered as part of the 24.3.0 on CONNECT release.

New features and enhancements

  • CONNECT generation with colour only: Added the option to generate only color data through the project administration page. This displays datasets in colour mode directly within Point Cloud Manager Desktop and E3D.

  • 3D model fading: Added a new setting within the options menu that helps you reduce the offset. 3D objects render with a 20cm offset. This helps you see the objects on top of point data.

  • Orbit Mode – Context Viewer: Enhanced Orbit mode within the 3D Context Viewer to scale with scrolling the mouse wheel. This increases the area visible in the Orbit mode, making visibility around the objects easier.

Double-clicking while in Orbit mode now moves the focus of the orbit to the new point.

In Flythrough mode, double-clicking on an annotation enters Orbit mode around that annotation.

  • BubbleView history: Added a section at the top of "Datasets" in Navigation sidebar that lists recently opened BubbleViews. This makes it easier to navigate between recent BubbleView sites.

Resolved issues

  • Case - N/A (Defect - 3375363) - No measurement feedback for new projects: Some datasets that were generated recently did not have the measurements service working correctly. This issue has now been resolved and affected datasets will now work when using the measurement feature.

  • Case - N/A (Defect - 3245910) - Markup created in context viewer is too large: When creating markups in the context viewer, this would result in a very large markup when viewing through the nearest BubbleView. This issue has now been resolved.

  • Case - N/A (Defect - 3313228) - Sharelink information not working for objects: The sharelink URL created for objects would not open correctly and failed to load datasets. This has now been resolved and Sharelink URL will work for objects.
