We are pleased to announce our new release of Point Cloud Manager on CONNECT.
The following updates were made as part of the Point Cloud Manager on CONNECT v26.1.0 release.
New features
Administration
-
Snapshot storage visibility: Project snapshot details now include storage usage for all snapshots, helping Admin users better understand and manage overall project data consumption in Point Cloud Manager on CONNECT.
-
Super-fine solid point cloud generation: Dataset generation now supports super-fine solid point clouds with a 2.5 mm resolution option for higher detail deliverables
-
Expanded project admin capabilities: Users who are assigned the Administrator role for Collections can now create, edit, and delete projects, enabling more effective delegated administration.
-
Hyphen support in dataset generation: Dataset generation now supports hyphens ("-") in relevant names/inputs.
Scan management
-
Archive scans individually: Admin users can now archive and restore individual scans in addition to full dataset archival, making long-term storage management more flexible.
-
FARO E57 full panoramic support: FARO E57 imports now generate datasets with full panoramic imagery, including color at zero-point areas (such as, sky) for a complete viewing experience.
-
Viametris E57 support: E57 files produced from Viametris mobile scanners (through their proprietary software) are now supported, including panoramic images positioned at their captured locations.
AIM integrations
-
AIM model-link enhancement: PCM projects can include multiple models mapped to different datasets. When selecting an object from AIM-A, the corresponding model is automatically loaded in the linked Point Cloud Manager instance.
-
AIM tag deletion synchronization: Deletions of objects and markups in Point Cloud Manager are now propagated to AIM when tag association updates are triggered through the Admin panel or API.
Viewer
-
Create tie-ins from BubbleView: Tie-ins measurements, which were Desktop only, can now be created and reviewed directly in the browser from BubbleViews.
-
Multiple classification instances in Context Viewer: Context viewer now supports viewing multiple classification instances simultaneously.
-
Maps landing page improvements: Updates to the Maps section improve usability, including saved settings across sessions and better focus on user projects.
-
Dataset name stored with measurements: Measurements now store the dataset name(s) referenced, and selecting a measurement in the properties panel will show which dataset(s) it relates to.
-
Solid Point Cloud Outline: A new option has been added to the 3D Context Viewer to outline groups of solid points, making it easier to visually identify and distinguish objects within dense point cloud data. This setting can be enabled through Options menu > Solid Points.
Bug fixes
-
AIM integration deletion error: Deleting an AIM integration from Point Cloud Manager settings page would not completely delete the integration with AIM-A.
-
Locating BubbleViews: Incorrect behavior was observed when opening BubbleViews based on entities such as markups. This has been resolved and now the closest BubbleViews will be opened.
-
AIM update integration not sending all data: There was an issue with Point Cloud Manager and AIM-A integration which saw incomplete tag association for large projects. This has been resolved and will require an "Update to all integrations" to complete.
-
Large E57 scan conversion issue: Large E57 data containing unstructured data would fail. This has been resolved.
-
Loading projects in Desktop application: For some projects which contained published as well as cloud generated datasets, errors would appear when loading through the Desktop application. This has now been resolved.
