System Monitor Registration

The System Monitor is now integrated with AVEVA Identity Manager to enhance API security between the Manager and Agent services. With this update, the System Monitor now requires the PCS component for operation.

Note: Anytime the System Management Serve (SMS) configuration is changed, you must re-configure the System Monitor Registration plug-in.

Configure System Monitor Registration

1. Start the Configurator.

2. In the left pane, under AVEVA System Monitor, select System Monitor Registration.

   The configuration screen appears

   

   The System Monitor Registration plug-in allows you to register System Monitor with AVEVA Identity Manager authentication service.

   • If the System Management Server (SMS) is installed and configured on your machine, the System Monitor Manager configuration is disabled. To configure the System Monitor Manager, you must first configure the System Monitor Registration plug-in.

   • If the System Management Server (SMS) configuration is changed to a new SMS, the System Monitor Registration plug-in is enabled to allow client registration with the new SMS server. The System Monitor Manager configuration is also enabled.

   • If no System Management Server (SMS) is configured, the system monitor configuration is not permitted.

3. Select Configure to register System Monitor with AVEVA Identity Manager authentication service.

   System Monitor is successfully registered.

4. Select the next item in the left pane that requires configuration. When all required items have been configured, select Close to complete the configuration.
