Troubleshoot AVEVA System Monitor

Issue 1: The System Monitor manager shows the Agent or Sentinel Agent Install Manager (SAIM) status as Not Running.

Resolution:

  1. Verify the Manifest File

    On the agent node, ensure the manifest file is located at C:\ProgramData\Sentinel System Monitor\Sentinel Agent

  2. Check Manifest Version Consistency

    1. In the System Monitor Manager, go to the Rule Overview or Monitored Machines page.

    2. Compare the manifest version displayed there with the version in the sentinelmanifest.xml file on the agent node.

    3. If there's a mismatch, it may indicate the agent is not updated or not communicating correctly.

  3. Restart the Sentinel Agent Install Manager service (SIMHOSTSRV) on the affected agent node(s) only.

    Note: Do not restart the services on the manager node unless explicitly required, as the agent installation there is by default.

Issue 2: The system displays an unauthorized token error when you attempt to log in to the System Monitor Manager application.

Resolution: Clear your browser cache and cookies, then attempt to log in again
