The following table lists the minimum system requirements of Historian Agent.

System Component

Requirement

Historian

Minimum version: System Platform 2020 R2 SP1 Patch 01 or later.

Operating System

  • Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, or Windows Server 2022 CORE editions of the Windows Server operating systems are supported.

  • Hard drive size: 200GB or larger hard disk.

Configuration

To configure Historian Agent after installation, you need to have the following prepared:

  • Agent service: The minimum role required for configuring Historian Agent with CONNECT data service is Tenant Contributor, which will be automatically provided for newly configured systems.

  • Internet connectivity of at least 10 Mbps.***

* These system sizing recommendations are based on the recommendations for medium-sized Historian node (50,000 - 200,000 historized tags per node) from the System Platform Installation guide. For more information on minimum and recommended system sizing based on the size of your Historian nodes, see System sizing guidelines in the System Platform Installation guide.

** When backfilling data using History block sizes of 500MB or greater, you need to increase the BufferCount value on your Historian Server machine, and you will need more RAM than the minimum. See Backfill Historian data to CONNECT for more on increasing the BufferCount value. See System sizing guidelines in the System Platform Installation guide for guidelines on increasing the system size of your Historian nodes.

*** If you increase the BufferCount value, you need to increase the internet connectivity speed to avoid History blocks accumulating in memory. See Backfill Historian data to CONNECT for more on increasing the BufferCount value. See System sizing guidelines in the System Platform Installation guide for guidelines on increasing the system size of your Historian nodes.
