Historian Agent User Guide

Set up Historian Agent

Before you can start transferring data between your deployed galaxy and CONNECT data services, you will need to set up Historian Agent. You can download Historian Agent from Support > Downloads on the CONNECT portal and then transfer it to the computer that will host the agent.

Certain permissions are required before you start using Historian Agent.

To download Historian Agent, you need at least the Tenant Member role (the default role for anyone invited to a tenant) on CONNECT data services.

Installation

To install Historian Agent, you must be an administrator on the agent host computer.

Configuration

To configure Historian Agent after installation, you need to have the following prepared:

  • Agent service: The minimum role required for configuring Historian Agent with CONNECT data service is Tenant Contributor, which will be automatically provided for newly configured systems.

  • Local groups: Ensure the user configuring the agent is a member of at least one of these local groups: aaAdministrators, aaPowerUsers, aaReplicationUsers.

Transfer management

To create and manage transfers, you need to have at least the Tenant Contributor role in the namespace where the data resides.

Replication

You need to have at least the Tenant Contributor role with each replication client.
