Installation and configuration of the PI UFL interface includes installing the interface software, and configuring the startup, security, and parsing and extracting logic.
32-bit and 64-bit Interface versions
The PI UFL interface is available as both 32-bit and 64-bit installations. Installation files are located in the %PIHOME% directory for 32-bit installations and the %PIHOME64% directory for 64-bit installations. If you want to copy configuration settings from a 32-bit installation when configuring the 64-bit installation, the following items must be configured to point to the new installation directory:
-
The new instance of an NT service
-
The cf parameter in the .bat file
-
Optional settings in the .ini file for IFM, MSGINERROR, and OUTPUT
PI UFL interface 64-bit installations can use either 32-bit or 64-bit buffering. Optionally, you can unregister or uninstall the 32-bit installation. The extraction and parsing logic in the .ini file remains unchanged.
