The PI UFL interface is not based on the UniInt framework; the set of PI point attributes it uses differs significantly from a standard UniInt based interface. The main difference is that the UFL interface does not require the PointSource attribute to be referenced through the start-up parameter /PS. The /PS parameter is optional and is only required when the input data streams contain names which reference existing tags through an alias name defined in InstrumentTag attribute. See the topic: InstrumentTag. Another important difference from a UniInt based interface is that Location1 is not the interface ID; in other words, the /ID - Location1 relation is not required.
The other area users must be aware of is the interface ability to automatically create points. This faculty is configurable and for details, see the topic [MSG] section and the StoreInPIPoints section in the topic Data storage in PI points.
