You can configure Enterprise Server Settings using the Multicast mode or the Database mode, while installing the product or after installation at any point in time.

The following table provides information about the various fields and the default values for specific fields:

Field Name

Default Value

Description

Enterprise Server Mode

Multicast

Select the mode as Multicast or Database.

  • If you select the mode as Multicast, then it uses the configured Cluster Port, Cluster IP, and Multicast Local IP to share its server status with other servers.

  • If you select the mode as Database, the server status is stored in the database and is shared with other servers.

TCP Port

8853

Communication between the Workflow Engine and the Advance Server service is established through this port. This port is used to get the status of the least used server, and also analyze server performance.

Cluster Port

8850

Use this port to check the connectivity between all the machines while running the Load Balanced Server. This is not used if you select the Enterprise Server Mode as Database.

Heartbeat Interval (ms)

3000

Specify the heartbeat interval for the Enterprise Server.

Heartbeat Timeout (seconds)

10

Specify the heartbeat timeout value for the Enterprise Server.

Average CPU Count

10

Specify the average CPU count for the Enterprise Server

Cluster IP

  • IPv4: 225.0.0.10

  • IPv6: FF02::1

Displays the multicast IP address.

This field is not used if you select the Enterprise Server Mode as Database.

In case of Enterprise Server in Multicast mode, the Cluster IP address for IPv4 address family is 225.0.0.10 and the Cluster IP address for IPv6 address family is FF02::1.

Load Balanced Server

True

Set load balancing for AVEVA Work Tasks.

This field is available only for the Load Balanced Server installation. To enable load balancing, set the Load Balanced value to true.

Local IP

-

Displays the local server name or IP address.

IP address supports both IPv4 and IPv6 address types.

Multicast Local IP

-

Displays the multicast server name or IP address.

Local IP address supports both IPv4 and IPv6 address types.

This field is not used if you select the Enterprise Server Mode as Database.

Note:

- Ensure to restart the Advance Server service and other related services in all the servers and clients configured for Enterprise Server after changing the Enterprise Server Mode. Otherwise, the modified Enterprise Server Mode might not get reflected in the other servers or client.

- In an environment where both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are configured and if both the Local IP and Multicast Local IP is the machine name, then IPv6 multicast Local IP is the Cluster IP, by default.
