Upload backup

You can now upload multiple versions of System Platform Galaxy backup files (2017 and later) directly from the project versions page within a project. Each upload creates a new version entry, helping you maintain a historical record of changes and updates over time

Important! Only users with the Administrator or Contributor role can upload backup for a project.

To import a backup file

  1. From the navigation rail, select Project backups.

    The project backup page displays.

  2. Locate the project where you want to upload the backup and select View versions.

Alternatively, open the project card menu and select View versions.

    The project versions page displays.

  3. From the top-left of the page, select Import.

    The Import backup dialog displays.

    Import backlog dialog

  4. Upload the backup file (.cab extension):

    • Drag and drop the .cab file into the dialog.

    • Or select BROWSE... to navigate to the file.

Note: Each backup can have a unique file name, and backups cannot exceed 20 GB in size. If your account storage capacity is full, uploads are blocked until space is available.

  5. In the Description field, enter a description for the uploaded galaxy.

    Import backup with description

Note: You must provide a description or the import remains disabled. The description cannot be changed once the backup is uploaded.

  6. Select Import.

A progress bar indicates the upload progress, and once complete, the status changes to Complete

Important! Once you initiate the upload, it continues, but refreshing or closing the page stops the process.

  7. Select Close to exit the dialog.

The Galaxy backup is now uploaded into your project.
