Use the Versions page to continue editing and publishing your Teamwork model, review publish status, and manage the version’s Publish Report. The editor retains your model for that version, so you can make incremental updates over time.
Edit and publish on the same version
-
Open the project’s Versions page.
-
On the version you want to update, select Edit model and publish.
-
Make your changes in the editor, and then select Publish to Teamwork.
Note: If a publish error occurs, it appears in the version grid. You can choose to republish the version. The editor maintains your Teamwork model and will attempt to republish any items that failed.
Publish Report
-
The Publish Report is maintained per version.
-
It records every transaction for that version’s lifetime, including successes and failures.
-
Each incremental publish appends its results to the same report.
Move to a different version
-
When you move to a different version of the same project, your source model or the Teamwork model might have changed. Assets or entities may have been deleted, renamed, moved, or added
-
When you select Edit model and publish on a different version, Development Studio will
-
Prompt the user to create New Plant(s) or Use existing Plant(s), Use existing Plant(s) is selected by default if you have previously published
-
Display the latest asset structure from your source model
-
Display the latest entity structure from Teamwork, if you chose Use existing Plant(s)
-
Indicate broken links when an asset or area previously bound to a Teamwork entity has been deleted in Teamwork
-
Delete project or version
When you delete a project or a version:
-
All Teamwork data associated with that version is deleted, including publishing reports.
-
If an edit session is in progress, the project cannot be deleted. A toast message warns you about the active session.
-
Discard your changes, and then delete the project.
Note: You cannot delete a version if an edit session is in progress.
Best practices
-
Development Studio is designed for one galaxy or project per plant. Each project should contain versions of only one galaxy.
-
To retrieve the latest Teamwork state, switch versions and then select Edit model and publish.
-
Multiple publishes can be done from a single version. Use incremental publishes to roll out parts of your plant and make changes over time.
-
For major changes (such as decommissioning or adding equipment), consider moving publishes to a later version.
-
If you switch versions with unpublished changes, including previously failed publishes, those changes will be lost. Development Studio displays a warning banner, and you must select Continue and discard my changes option to proceed.
