You can map your plant structure in AVEVA Teamwork using Development Studio. This allows you to organize assets and areas from your source model into a structured Teamwork hierarchy.

Key terms and user interface
-
Assets: Individual equipment, machines, or components in your plant or production environment (for example, Bottling, MilkSupply, or Mixing).
-
Placeholder nodes
: Represents a Teamwork model level in the preview pane and indicates where assets
or areas can be mapped. Placeholder nodes are automatically added when a parent node
is created, but are only displayed if the parent does not have any real children.
If a child item is added to a placeholder, the placeholder becomes a real node. This
ensures that all items published to Teamwork have a valid parent, as required.
Create and map model
-
In the editor, locate the Source assets pane.
All assets and areas from your backup version are listed here.
-
To map an asset or area, select it in the Source assets pane.
-
To map multiple assets at once, use bulk selection:
-
Manually check the boxes and drag the handle, or
-
Use the context menu and select Select direct children.
-
To clear your selection, select Deselect all.
-
-
Drag and drop to map the selected asset or area onto a node in the Teamwork preview pane.
Note: When you drag and drop a single asset onto a Plant, Production Line, or Workstation node that is not linked, a Mapping Options dialog appears. You can choose to Map as "xxx" or Add as child of "xxx". If you drop multiple items, they are always added as children of the target node. You will not be prompted to choose a mapping option.
When an asset or area is linked, it appears disabled in the Source assets pane, and the status column is updated with a To be linked icon
on both the panes.
Important! When mapping, Development Studio adds an external identifier to each Teamwork entity it creates. The “AVEVA System Platform ID” is stored as <AssetGUID>:<GalaxyGUID>. Do not modify this field in Teamwork. It is case sensitive and used to maintain links across publishes. This ID remains stable through Galaxy backup and restore, but will change if you use the import/export function in System Platform.

To add manual items (such as a new Plant or Production Line), open the context menu on the relevant node in the Teamwork preview pane and select Add new.

-
Use the context menu to delete, move, rename, unlink or deselect items in the Teamwork preview pane.
-
You can double-click a node to rename it.
If a Teamwork item is linked and has been renamed, the original source asset name appears in brackets next to the item name.
-
You can bulk select items of the same type or deselect all items.
Note: The Equipment node cannot be manually added or unlinked in the Teamwork preview pane.
