This selection provides specific parameters for setting up server-level failover options of the interface. The PI OPC AE interface is designed to provide redundancy for the OPC AE server. For server-level failover, the interface can be configured to change to another server when the current server no longer serves data or when the server changes state. For this, primary and secondary/backup OPC AE servers must be specified.

Server-Level Failover

  1. Backup OPC AE Server Name -- The name of the backup OPC AE Server (/BSERVER=BACKUP SERVERNAME).

  2. Backup OPC AE Server Node – The node where the backup OPC AE server is running (/BACKUPNODE=backupNode).

  3. Current Active Server Tag -- The string tag into which should be written the name of the currently active OPC AE Server (/CS=tag).

  4. Number of seconds to try to connect before switching to backup server: The number of seconds to try to connect, before switching to the backup OPC AE Server (/FT=#).

  5. Number of seconds to wait for RUNNING State before switching to backup server: The number of seconds to wait for RUNNING status, before switching to the backup OPC AE Server (/SW=#).
