Appendix A​. Set ExcMax on advise and event points

The PI Interface for OPC DA applies special rules for advise and event points in cases where ExcMax has elapsed since the last time a point updated. This custom exception handling mechanism is complicated, and the results it produces depend not only on other parameters the user has set, but potentially on the user's OPC server and network as well.

The interface applies the same rules for event (i.e., triggered) points as it does for advise points. The following information focuses on advise points only.
