Create a new query

SQL syntax is used for creating queries. When you open a new query window, it is permanently bound to the selected data source if the data source is connected. Any queries you create in the query window are run against that data source.

Do any of the following to create a new query:

Click New Query.

Press Ctrl+N.

Click File > New.
Query editor opens, allowing you to write a new query or to copy and paste a query from another source. If you open or create additional queries, opens a tabbed window for each query.
