PI SQL Commander Lite

Connect to PI AF Server using PI SQL Client OLEDB

In PI SQL Commander Lite, verify that the Object Explorer pane is visible. If it is not, click View > Object Explorer.

  1. In Object Explorer pane, double-click PI SQL Client to expand the list of available PI AF Servers.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Double-click PI SQL Client.

    • Right-click PI SQL Client and click Connect.

  3. In the Data Link Properties window in the AF Server field, enter the name of a PI AF server.

  4. In the AF Database field, enter the name of a PI AF database or select one from the drop-down list.

    Note: The drop-down list in the AF Database field is available only if PI Web API Core Services and PI System Directory are installed.

  5. In the Authentication area, provide credentials for a Windows user account or select Trusted Connection to use your Windows credentials to connect to PI AF server.

  6. Optional: Click the Advanced tab to specify additional properties, such as Time Zone, Connection Timeout, or protocol order.

  7. Optional: Click the All tab to specify additional initialization properties, such as Query Date.

  8. Click OK.

    A green arrow next to the server icon indicates that the connection is successful.
