Connect to PI AF Server using PI OLEDB Enterprise

Before creating the connection, you need to verify the following:

From the Windows start menu click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and find PI OLEDB Enterprise Agent in the list of services. Verify that the status of PI OLEDB Enterprise Agent is Running.

If the PI OLEDB Enterprise Agent is not present or not installed, see Install PI OLEDB Enterprise.

In PI SQL Commander Lite, verify that the Object Explorer pane is visible. If it is not, restart PI SQL Commander Lite.
To create a connection:

In Object Explorer, double-click PI OLEDB Enterprise to expand the list of available PI AF Servers.

Optional: Manually add more PI AF servers.

Right-click PI OLEDB Enterprise and click Add AF Server.

In the Add AF Server window, enter the name of a PI AF server and click OK.

Do one of the following:

Double-click a PI AF server in the list.

Right-click a PI AF server in the list and click Connect.

In the PI OLEDB Enterprise Login window, provide credentials for a Windows user account, or select Use Windows NT Integrated security to use your Windows credentials to connect to PI AF server.
Note: To gain access to the various PI AF data sources, PI data references, and so on, you must enter login information for an account with valid permissions for the machine that runs the PI AF server.

Optional: Click Options to specify additional parameters such as a log file, log level, time zone, and extended properties.

Click OK.
An arrow next to the server icon indicates that the connection is successful.
