Set the direction of the gradient

You can configure the direction of the gradient to be one of the following:

Horizontal - from side to side
-
Vertical - up and down
-
Radial - circular from the center outwards
-
Custom angle - across the element at a specified angle
To set a horizontal gradient

In the style selection dialog box, click the Gradient tab.

In the Direction area, click Horizontal. The new gradient appears in the New color box on the right of the dialog box.

Click OK.
To set a vertical gradient

In the style selection dialog box, click the Gradient tab.

In the Direction area, click Vertical. The new gradient appears in the New color box on the right of the dialog box.

Click OK.
To set a radial gradient

In the style selection dialog box, click the Gradient tab.

In the Direction area, click Radial.

Set the center location. Do either of the following:

In the Horizontal and Vertical boxes, type values for the center location.

Click and drag the center point in the adjacent box.
The new gradient appears in the New color box on the right of the dialog box.

Click OK.
To set the custom angle of a gradient

In the style selection dialog box, click the Gradient tab.

In the Direction area, click Custom.

Set the angle. Do either of the following:

In the Angle text box, type a value for the angle.

Click and drag the angle bar in the adjacent box.
The new gradient appears in the New color box on the right of the dialog box.

Click OK.
