Configure system attributes

This topic explains the general sequence of steps to implement a System attribute in a graphic to show the current date or time.

To configure system attributes

  1. Place a text box within a graphic.

  2. Select the text element to show the Animations dialog box.

  3. Select the Add Animation button to show the list of possible animations.

  4. Select Value Display animation as the type of animation to show the current time in the text box added to the graphic.

  5. Select the data type and enter the fully-qualified System attribute name.

    In this example, String is the data type for the TimeString attribute.

  6. Save your changes to the graphic that contains the text element configured with the TimeString attribute.

  7. Deploy the ViewApp containing the graphic.

  8. When the ViewApp is running, you should see the current time in the configured text box.
