The hardware platforms currently supported allow binary compatibility of Databases
(DBs), and so the information in this section will not usually be needed.
The RECONFIGURER can be used for the transfer of AVEVA base product DBs between different computers, which may be of different types. Because reconfiguration is a two-pass operation, the data can be copied from one computer and read back into a different one.
The transfer operation is essentially an extension of the procedure for copying data between Projects, described in Section Transferring Data Between Projects. The RECONFIGURER makes provision for translating the coding of the intermediate files to make sure of compatibility between the language requirements of different computers.
An alternative method of transferring data between different computers is to use the OUTPUT command in Model, Draft, Paragon, or Lexicon.
