Managing projects with 2 versions of software requires some thought and consideration depending on the product being used. Please check the release documents for each product for any special conditions. The DBUPGRADE process does not transform database content. It sets a flag on the database that stops earlier software versions being used.

When the DBUPGRADE command is issued on a database or whole project, it is not possible to Undo that transaction, so it is strongly recommended a full back-up is in place should customers need to return any database(s) to the previous software version.
