Install the Work Tasks Extension for MES

Work Tasks Extension for MES should be installed on any machine where Work Tasks server is installed without an enterprise console since the Work Tasks server may be used to provision the MES connector which requires the MES plugin and other MES extension resources.

Important: In distributed deployments, the Work Tasks Enterprise Console Authentication Provider page may not display the Active Directory and MES User provider links after you configure the Work Tasks Extension for MES. This issue occurs because a required diagnostics assembly (Skelta.Connector.Diagnostics.dll) is not installed on nodes that run only the Work Tasks Extension. Without the assembly, the authentication components cannot load correctly. To address this issue, install Work Tasks 2023 R2 HF4 on the node that hosts the Work Tasks Extension. Work Tasks 2023 R2 HF4 (AWT2023R2-HF4) is included on the Work Tasks Extension and Connector for MES installation media. Install the Work Tasks Extension for MES

1. On the Work Tasks server, run the Work Tasks Extension for MES.msi installer.

   The installer splash screen, and then the installation wizard screen appears.

2. Select Next.

   The License Agreement screen appears.

3. Read the terms, select the I accept the terms in the license agreement option, and then select Next.

4. Select Install to begin the installation.

5. Select Finish to complete the installation.

   The Configurator for Work Tasks Extension for MES appears.

6. Use the configurator to provide the Work Tasks farm database credentials. For detailed information, see Configure the Work Tasks Extension for MES.
