The Web Client website can be customized using the AVEVA Web Client plugin by navigating to the Settings tab. You can use this plugin when customization is required. Configuring this plugin is mandatory before launching the Web Client. If you configure the System Management Server, the AVEVA Web Client - Settings tabs will automatically get configured.

Note: Any changes made using this plugin will apply to both InTouch and OMI Web Clients.

In the Configurator, use AVEVA Web Client - Settings to configure the website settings like website name, title, and icon.

Configure Web Client settings

Website name

In the Website Name field, enter the name of the website that appears when the application is launched in a browser. By default, the Website Name is avevaweb. You can access Web Client using the URL https://fqdn/<<website name>>. For example, https://fqdn/avevaweb. Here, fqdn stands for Fully Qualified Machine Name. Minimum one character is required and maximum 100 characters can be used in this field.

For example: if the Website Name is intouch the the URL will be as shown below:

website name

Website title

By default, the Website Title, will be of the format {websitename} - {currentapplication}. Where, {websitename} is the website name provided in the previous step and {currentapplication} is name of the application name. The Web Client website title is generated using the website name provided and the application name. You can also enter custom text of your choice. For example, if the current launched InTouch application name is “View App 001” and the website name is customized to “WonderBrew”, the website title would be “WonderBrew – View App 001”.

The default website name “avevaweb” is treated as a special case, where the website title is automatically formatted as “AVEVA Web Client – View App 001”. You can remove the {websitename} – {currentapplication”, and use a fixed string like “My Website Title” or a combination of string and the variables, example “Welcome to {websitename} – {currentapplication}

The website title would be used in the browser title bar and in other applicable pages error or information pages.

For example: if the Website Name is "intouch" and the application name is "InTouch Introductory Demo 1080p", the space will be replaced with "%20" and the URI will be as shown below:

Website icon

The preview of the current icon is shown in the Website Icon filed. Select Choose a file and upload any icon of your choice. The selected website icon will be displayed as shown below:

Restore defaults

Select Restore defaults to revert the website settings to their default values. Changes will only be saved after selecting the Configure.

The default values are as shown below:

Additional configuration

While using a reverse proxy, you can use the additional configuration to provide the Web Client host alias. The respective impacted services will be restarted only if they are already running.

In the Additional configuration section, add an alias website name in the Additional AVEVA web client host alias field. Leave the field blank if alias is not required. If an alias is required, specify the additional name here. You can use the specified alias to connect to the Web client host.

Once you set all the required fields, select Configure. The status of the configuration is displayed in the Configuration Messages section.

Note: After upgrading to version 2026, reconfigure the Identity Manager Registration plugin under AVEVA System Platform in the Configurator to reflect the updated default Web Client URL from https://localhost/omi to https://localhost/avevaweb. Verify that the website is registered with AVEVA Identity Manager.

Important: If the website name or title is changed, you may experience a brief interruption if you are connected through the web client while the web client services restart to apply the update.
