Read-Only Access

Read-only access is supported only when the AVEVA Web Client is configured to use Windows Authentication as its identity provider.
Note: Read-Only support for External Groups, such as Entra ID and CONNECt are not supported.
To grant a user read-only access:

Ensure the user is a member of a Windows security group that has been assigned the Read role in the Role Management plugin. For more information, see Configure AVEVA Web Client Role Management.

Have the user sign in to the Web Client using their Windows credentials.
Identify a Read-Only user
After signing in, you can determine whether a user is operating in read-only mode by checking the browser title bar.

Standard users will see the normal application title.

Read-only users will see [R/O] appended to the end of the title.
Users with read-only access can:

View application screens and data.
-
Monitor process values and status information.

Navigate between screens.
Users with read-only access cannot:

Change values (UDT, UDO, Tags)
-
Acknowledge alarms.
