Export Industrial Graphics from an application

You can export all Industrial Graphics from an application to an aaPKG file or an XML file. You can then import the graphics from the file to another application on the same or different computer.

You can select a few Industrial Graphics and export from an application, or export all of them at once.

Export Industrial Graphics from an application

  1. Open the application in WindowMaker containing the Industrial Graphics that you want to export.

  2. To export only the selected Industrial Graphics, do the following:

    1. In the Industrial Graphics pane, select the required Industrial Graphics (press Ctrl to select multiple graphics) and right-click.

    2. On the context menu, hover on Export, and then select Graphic (s) to save as .aaPKG file or select Graphic (s) as XML to save as an XML file.

    Note: An XML file will be created for each Industrial Graphic.

    The Export Industrial Graphics dialog box appears to specify the destination folder and the name of the export file.

    • Export all the Industrial Graphics at once: On the File menu, select Export, and from the Visualization group, select All Industrial Graphics to export to aaPKG file or select All Industrial Graphics as XML to export to an XML file.

      The Export Industrial Graphics dialog box appears to specify the destination folder and the name of the export file. If you are importing all Industrial Graphics at once, you must select the file type in the Save as type field.

  3. To export all the Industrial Graphics at once, do the following:

    1. On the File menu, select Export.

    2. From the Visualization group, select All Industrial Graphics to export to a aaPKG file, or select All Industrial Graphics as XML to export to an XML file.

      The Export Industrial Graphics dialog box appears to specify the destination folder and the name of the export file.

    3. Select the file type in the Save as type field.

  4. Select the destination folder to export the file.

  5. (Optional) Enter the name of the export file in the File name field.

    The default export file name is IndustrialGraphics.

  6. Select Save.

    A horizontal bar shows the progress of the Industrial Graphics being loaded into the export file.

  7. After the export process is complete, navigate to the destination folder in File Explorer, and verify that the export file has been created.

    Note: You can create or customize your XML file using the aaGraphics.xsd schema file located at:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\ArchestrA\Framework\Bin\aaGraphics.xsd
