Silent installation

This section describes how to install PI Integrator for Business Analytics in the background.
Before you install PI Integrator for Business Analytics, ensure that you have met all the prerequisites in Phase 1: Prepare to install PI Integrator for Business Analytics.
Note: Install any PI Integrator product built on the PI Integrator Framework on its own machine. For example, PI Integrator for Business Analytics and PI Integrator for SAP HANA cannot be installed on the same machine, nor can two instances of PI Integrator for Business Analytics.
To install PI Integrator for Business Analytics in the background:

Log on to the computer where you will be installing PI Integrator for Business Analytics.

Download the latest version of the PI Integrator for Business Analytics setup kit from the Customer Portal.

Right-click the setup executable and click Run as Administrator to run the installation wizard.
The Self-Extracting Executable window opens.

Specify the extraction path for the installer and click OK.
Files extract to the specified location. The Welcome to the PI Integrator for Business Analytics 2020 R2 SP2 Patch 1 Setup window will display when the extraction completes.

Click Cancel.

Locate the silent.ini configuration file in the folder.

Edit the configuration file. Specify the following parameters in the PI Integrator component line of the section, modifying the default value "
Parameter
Description
This value is by default set to , which will install PI Integrator using Virtual accounts. You can also specify a Windows service account that runs the PI Integrator Framework service.
Service account password.
Note: If you are using a group Managed Service Account (gMSA) or Virtual accounts, omit this parameter.
PI AF server that stores PI Integrator configuration information.
SQL Server that PI Integrator uses to store view metadata. If you are using a named instance, you must also specify the instance.
Port that the PI Integrator uses to connect to the web browser.
Name of machine that hosts SQL Server. If there is a named instance, specify the named instance as well.
(Optional) If set to the default, 1, you agree to participate in the PI System Customer Feedback Program. Set to 0 to opt out of the program.
(Optional) The PI AF element that holds the PI Integrator instance-specific information. Use the next available instance. If not otherwise specified, the default is Instance1. Check the configuration database in the PI AF server for the next available instance.
(Optional) If using a custom certificate, set to 1. If not specified, then the self-signed certificate created by the installer is used.
(Optional) Thumbprint of the custom certificate that the PI Integrator will use. If a thumbprint is used, then CERTIFICATE_SELECTED must be set to 1.
(Optional) If you are using SQL authentication, then set the SQL account that PI Integrator uses to access the SQL Server instance.
Note: If you are using a gMSA account or Virtual accounts, you cannot use SQL authentication. Omit this parameter.
(Optional) SQL account password.

Open a command prompt as an Administrator and run the following command: Setup.exe -f silent.ini
