Run system diagnostics

AVEVA Historian Plant SCADA Connector events are logged using the SMC/OCMC. Open SMC/OCMC and view the logged events to troubleshoot any issues you may encounter.

To view connector events

1. Start SMC/OCMC. To do so, from the Start menu, select AVEVA, and then select System Management Console or Operations Control Management Console, depending on your Historian version.

2. From the left navigation menu, select Log Viewer, select Default Group, and then select Local.

   Connector events appear in the Component column of the right pane.

   

   Note: Clear the event log regularly to free up disk space. To do this:
   1. Select Log Viewer, select Default Group, select and right-click Local.
   2. From the displayed context menu, select Messages, and then select Purge.
   3. In the Purge dialog, select the Purge All log messages option and click OK.
   You can take a backup of the messages before deleting them, if required.
